The Mercury Meta One was a concept car created by the Ford Motor Company brand, Mercury. It was first introduced at the 2005 North American International Auto Show. The Meta One was the first PZEV diesel-hybrid vehicle.
The Meta One used a twin-turbocharged V6 diesel engine that also has an electric motor in the modular hybrid transmission. The torque of the Meta One can go up to 431 ft·lbf.
The Meta One was 97% cleaner than the Tier I emissions standard for NOx.
Like any other concept car, the Meta One had plenty of futuristic gadgets inside it. A PDA is the Meta One's ignition key, and it could also store emergency contacts. The Meta One also featured built-in Sirius Satellite Radio.
